I’m just going to put this warning at the start. This is might be one of those reviews that is just the ramblings of an obsessive fan girl. I think I’m basically just a Sarah J Maas fangirl at this point and I am not sorry. I started Throne of Glass after reading the ACOTAR series and I instantly adored the first book in the series and was really excited to read the rest of the series.
I picked up The Falling in Love Montage during June for Pride Month on bookstagram. Initially, I picked it up because I absolutely loved the cover but when I read the summary I knew I had to read it as it features many elements I absolutely love in a story: a lesbian romance, sassy main character and plenty of references to rom-coms. I had really high expectations before reading and I’m happy to say that The Falling in Love Montage absolutely lived up to them! Read my thoughts on The Falling In Love Montage here.
I’m just going to put this out there right from the start. Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes was a weird one for me. It’s not so much that it was a bad book – in actual fact I think a lot of the things Suzanne Collins does in this book are very clever. I just really didn’t like it. Read this post to find out why I didn’t like it.
I’ve recently been completing a LGBTQ Pride themed photo challenge over on my bookstagram, hosted by Little Miss Star. One of the prompts was for a book with a ‘bisexual bad arse’. While I was searching for a book that would fit this description, I stumbled across Not your Sidekick and oh did it tick a lot of boxes! Not your sidekick is a superhero themed novel featuring a bisexual Chinese-Vietnamese protagonist, a trans character and a f/f romance written by an own voices author.
