“Brighton has something of San Francisco about it.” I couldn’t put it better! Brighton is on the coast, has an incredible LGBTQ+ community and has many unique places to eat. When I first visited, I fell in love with it’s fun, quirky, laid back vibe. Over the years, I’ve discovered some incredible places to eat So I’ve compiled some cool places to eat in Brighton. Whether you’re searching for a brunch spot, burger joint or elegant restaurant.
A Guide To The Most Insanely Cool Places To Eat in Brighton
The Best Brunch Restaurants in Brighton
The Breakfast Club £
Brunch fan? You need to check out The Breakfast Club!
The Brighton branch is their first location outside of London.
They offer insanely delicious Brunch options. Especially if you love American inspired breakfast food!
I tried the All American – a pancake stack served with bacon, crispy potatoes and fried eggs all coated in maple syrup. YUM!
Artbox Café ££
Looking for instagrammable cafés in Brighton? Then you should head to The Artbox Café.
How adorable! Artbox is a themed Café. When I visited, they had decorated it in the cutest Gudetama Egg theme.
They change every few months. And always include cute pastel colours and graphics.
They offer sit down table service and takeaway. I tasted a delicious milkshake made with homemade ice cream.
They also serve waffles, bubble tea and savoury snacks.
The Best Burger Restaurants in Brighton
If you like burgers, dirty fries and high-calorie food then Meatliquor is for you.
Meat liquor began as a food truck. It’s slightly out of town. But the journey is absolutely worth it for the wonderful food
. I’ve tried a lot of chicken wings and Meatliquor serves some of my faves.
Patty and Bun £
This is the last burger restaurant I am going to recommend on here
. Patty and Bun has a much more chilled, laid back vibe.
They offer a great variety of burgers and sides. And they have some fantastic vegan & vegetarian options.
Cool Places To Eat In Brighton – Street Food
Shelter Hall ££
Shelter Hall is relatively new to Brighton.
It’s a socially distanced food hall. And it features a variety of local street food providers.
I really enjoyed the Mexican stand in particular. It has a lively vibe. Also, they have a great line up of entertainment.
The Best Pub Grub in Brighton
The Druid’s Head £
The Druid’s Head is an authentic British Pub experience.
fOne of my favourite weird facts about Brighton is that there used to be secret tunnels all through the city. It was so the Prince could move about without people seeing how fat he’d become. One of these was discovered in the cellar of Druid’s Head in the 1960s.
That just speaks volumes about the history behind this pub. It’s equally good for drinks or good honest pub grub. The menu isn’t groundbreaking. But they offer good, solid pub grub that will hit the spot!
Cool Places To Eat In Brighton – Date Night
Bohemia is grand café located in the Brighton Lanes.
If you don’t visit The Lanes you’re definitely missing out. The Lanes are the historic heart of Brighton. And they still have a medieval street layout. It makes them feel like a labyrinth of unique restaurants and eclectic shops.
Bohemia has a varied menu, late-night lounge and incredible cocktails. It’s a perfect place to visit most times of the day.
The stylish décor and live music also make it very atmospheric. It would be an excellent choice for date night.
If you visit, you should definitely check out the indulgent cocktails!
The Coal Shed £££
Steak lovers – you need Coal Shed in your life. It’s a bit pricier but the food is insane. The chargrilled steaks are my absolute favourite.
And the wine menu is excellent. The service is also exceptional.
If you’re looking for somewhere more indulgent and you’re willing to spend the money – absolutely worth it!

Ole Ole! Tapas Bar & Restaurant ££
Living in Spain has made me a bit picky with Tapas Restaurants. But Ole Ole! Genuinely really impressed me!
It’s located in The Lanes. And serves an excellent selection of really authentic tapas dishes. The atmosphere also really reminded me of being in Spain. Especially on a sunny evening.
So writing this post has made me hungry!
